Cambridge is led by Paul Lavelle who formed the firm in 2002. His career includes over twenty-five years experience leading companies through challenging issues and successfully executing value-enhancing business strategies and transactions. Prior to founding Cambridge, Paul was Vice-Chairman of Ernst & Young Corporate Finance and a Senior Partner of Ernst & Young LLP, where he provided strategic advice to the CEOs of the firm's major clients as leader of the firm's Center for Strategic Transactions. Before joining Ernst & Young, Paul was President and CEO of Thornmark Corporation, an investment company with major interests in shipping, real estate development energy and merchant banking.

As an adviser and as a corporate executive Paul has planned, structured and negotiated numerous acquisition, financing, merger and divestiture transactions in industries as diverse as banking, publishing, real estate, resource exploration, transportation health care, consumer products and others. Paul applies his combined experience as both principal and adviser, and in both strategy and transaction execution, to enable Cambridge clients to develop and implement value-enhancing solutions.

Paul is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. He chaired the CICA Corporate Finance committee and is active in community affairs.
